YAHUKIMO - In a heartwarming display of community service and dedication, the Task Forces of Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, carried out a meaningful patrol in Keikey Village, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province, on Saturday, November 30, 2024. Their mission: ensuring security while uplifting local livelihoods through the “ROSITA” (Buy up Farming Products) program.
During their routine patrol, the Marines stopped by Keikey Market, a bustling hub of local trade, to engage directly with the community. With Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung emphasizing the importance of addressing local challenges alongside their primary security duties, the patrol, led by First Lieutenant Nico, turned into an opportunity to empower the villagers.

The Soldiers purchased fresh produce and goods directly from local farmers using their own funds, creating an immediate economic boost for the sellers. Their efforts were met with heartfelt gratitude, with one vendor, Mama Rita Hanuebi, expressing her joy: “Thank you, Bapak Tentara, for buying our farming products. God bless.”
This small but impactful gesture resonated deeply within the community. The HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, praised the initiative, stating, “The Marines Task Forces’ efforts exemplify the TNI’s commitment to not only securing the region but also supporting the economic growth and development of Papua.”
